“The Cold War never felt this close.”
A classic Cold War thriller. A daring escape by an American from a Russian prison.
After being betrayed by his own country, American spy Jeffrey West is captured by the Soviets and sent to a Siberian gulag. During the train ride to the camp, an accident destroys the records tied to his identity, allowing him to pose as a common thief and avoid the harsher treatment reserved for political prisoners and foreign agents. At first, Jeffrey manages to blend in among the prisoners while quietly searching for a way out. But as inconsistencies in his story begin to surface, the camp commander grows suspicious and starts investigating who he really is. Knowing his cover will eventually collapse, Jeffrey decides to attempt an escape across the frozen Siberian wilderness toward the Bering Strait, hoping to find a way back to freedom before the commander closes in on him for good.
